Playground of superstars
Tucked away on the southern coast of Mykonos, amidst towering palm trees and soft white sand, is one of Greece’s most luxury beach clubs and resort; Nammos. While Nammos has been attracting some of the wealthiest businessmen from around the globe to its location on the paradise-like Psarou Bay for a while now, it’s primarily a hot spot for fashion-forward models and uberwealthy travellers. Look between the helipad and the superyachts, and you’ll find a small community of well-dressed revellers soaking up the very best of the Greek sunshine to the sound of tropical beats with a bottle (or two) of vintage champagne. What’s more, Nammos has been given the golden nod from a number of celebrities including the likes of actor Leonardo DiCaprio, Victoria Secret model Alessandra Ambrosio, and singer Mariah Carey to name a few. If you’re looking for indulgent luxury, look no further than Nammos.
Make it to Nammos, and you’ve made it to paradise. Step in and you’ll find Nammos Restaurant, a space where world-class chefs work together to create tantalisingly delicious dishes using only the freshest of local ingredients – the food here becomes an ‘object d’art’ as you take a gastronomical journey and dine like a king. You’ll also find a bar, or two, serving eccentric cocktail creations and old-time classics. The inside of a billion-dollar yacht inspired the bar’s decor; chic, stylish, but minimalistic. Nammos is also home to its own shopping village, hosting a number of pop-up stores from some of the best designers around the globe. The golden ticket of Nammos, however, is Nammos Beach, a beach made for innovative cocktails, late night parties, and peaceful sun-soaking. Those with enough cash can rent out one of the resorts’ four private beach cabanas that offers spectacular views over the Aegean Sea, featuring an outdoor Jacuzzi, and come inclusive of personal butler service. If you can afford it, Nammos has got it.
How it Came to Be
Mykonos is without a shadow of a doubt one of the most exclusive of all the Greek islands, and it’s no question why it was chosen in 2003 for the location of Nammos thanks to its incredible rocky coastline, picture-perfect white houses, and numerous hidden beaches. But the selling point for opening Nammos was Psarou Bay, a coastal haven small enough to be considered exclusive, and big enough to moor luxury yachts. The birth of Nammos brought with it an opulent combination of beach life, luxury dining, and high-end parties that elicit the envy of most travellers.
Since 2003, the resort has been lavishly developed to keep up-to-date and to reflect the changes in contemporary fashion and culture. Today new additions include poolside cabanas, a larger sunbed area, and a number of new designer pop-up stores in Namos Village.
Nammos Village for Shopping Galore
One big draw to Nammos for the fashionistas is Nammos Village, an exclusive shopping experience found right in the heart of the resort. Step back from the beach, and you’ll find yourself nestled amidst botanical gardens, and it’s here where you’ll find the ground-breaking shopping village that is home to a number of designer brands and boutique labels offering the ultimate shopping experience.
Dior, Louis Vuitton (one of two stores found on the island), Gucci, and Oscar de la Renta are just some of the names above the doors here and each cater to the high-end market found across the resort. In fact, Nammos has left such a mark on the island that Maria Grazia Chiuri, Christian Dior’s Italian fashion designer, created a line of bespoke and exclusive signature pieces dedicated to the island, inscribed with the likes of “J’adior Mykonos”. Likewise, the Christian Louboutin store in Nammos village opened due to Louboutin’s connections with long-term partner and Greek native Enny Monaco. Similarly, the pop-up Louis Vuitton store which opened here in 2018 boasts its own unique capsule collection made up of beautifully crafted travel objects, created by some of the world’s leading designers and dedicated to ‘Objects Nomads’. More Louis Vuitton can be found in Mykonos’ main town of Chora, the fact that a second store was opened for Nammos alone speaks volumes!
If you’re overwhelmed by the choice of shopping outlets, whether you’re looking for home and living accessories, fine jewellery, or the latest fashion item, Nammos Village has gone so far as to offer a personal shopping service with creative Visionaire who’ll provide the ultimate luxury of a private shopper at the click of a finger.
The Epitome of Luxury
In conclusion, Nammos is not just a popular beach hangout or a busy cocktail bar, nor merely a place to dine. It’s the epitome of luxury, the concept of indulgence, and a fashion and style revolution combined. Get ready to enjoy contemporary Greece with some of the wealthiest, most forward-thinking, and innovative minds and bodies around.
